From start to finish here's our step by step guide
to completing
activities on the Pod
Choose an activity: Visit the
activities section, select age range and topic then choose the
activity you would like to run.
Prepare your activity:
Download the resources (e.g. resource or activity pack, lesson
plan, take it home sheet).
Start an activity: Run the
start audit in school using the template in the resource or
activity packs, then click on the orange 'Run start audit'
button on the left hand side of the activity page to enter the
results onto the Pod. As each activity is different there are
instructions provided to you once you start your audit. This will
also start off your blog.
Run the activity: Remember to
update your blog by going to your school's page,
clicking on the Pod activities tab, choosing the
activity that you want to blog about and clicking on the orange
'Update blog' button. The more blogs you post,
including text, images and video, the better your chance of winning
a medal for your school. Students can register using the
invitation code* and post blogs for you to moderate before they go
live on the site.
Finish the activity: Once you have
finished the activity and have collected the final audit data visit
your school's page, click on
the Pod activities tab and choose the activity that you
are ready to finish. Click on the orange ' Final audit' button. You
will then be able to enter your final audit data.
Lesson Learned report: After
you have entered your final audit data you will then be able
to add more blogs before you submit for a medal. To add a
lessons learned report go to the orange 'Add
a Post' button at the top of your blog and under
'type' choose lessons learned. We ask you questions about
what your challenges were and how you over came these.
Once you have entered the details click submit and the
lessons learned report will appear on your blog.
Submit your blog for a medal: The
Pod rewards successful schools by awarding them medals. You will
need to click on the orange 'Submit for medal' button
once you have entered your final audit and lessons learned report.
The Pod will then work out if you have been successful in getting a
medal and display thr result on your blog straight away.
Pod-o-meter: When
you finish an activity we use your start and end audits to
measure any savings you make**. You can track these savings
using your school's pod-o-meters. To find your pod-o-meters go to
your school page and click on the pod-o-meters tab.
Top tips for winning Gold
- Blog regularly: the
type of blog (e.g. text, photos, video)
and the number of posts determine what medal you
receive - so keep blogging throughout an
activity.
- Make an impact - the savings you
make - measured by your pod-o-meters using information you supply
in the two audits - also influence what type of medal
you receive**.
- Submit a lesson learned report -
you can't win gold without one.
