Climate Science and Weather
The Pod and the Met Office have joined forces to develop a range
of high quality and scientifically accurate educational resources
and teaching materials to help educate young people about Climate
Science and Weather.
These resources aim to
- give young people context to their 'green activities' and a
reason to want to change their behaviour and live more sustainable
lives
- promote Science Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)
subjects as GCSE subject choices and as potential interesting and
exciting career options.
We currently have an information pack, assembly presentation and
'Degrees of Change' activity, which was designed to educate
children about the increase in national and global temperatures
over the past decades. The resources will also make children aware
about how a warmer climate could impact the world in the
future.
