EDF Energy Green Fund
The EDF Energy Green Fund has awarded over £3.2million to more than 188 renewable energy projects since its launch in 2001.
The fund provides money to community based organisations, such as schools, sports clubs and village halls, helping them fund small-scale, renewable energy generation projects.
It has helped community organisations install a wide range of technologies, from wind turbines to small-scale hydroelectric and wood burning systems.
The Green Fund receives money from two sources. Customers on our Green Tariff pay just over £1 a month* which is matched by EDF Energy to help fund projects such as St. Mary’s School’s 6kW wind turbine. The turbine not only generates energy but is also used as a teaching resource for pupils at the West Sussex school, helping to inspire future generations.
If your school has a renewable energy project, you can apply for up to half of the money from the Green Fund, using the application forms on the website.
