Biodiversity > Bug Hotel

About

Building a bug hotel in your school grounds is a brilliant way to look after bugs and promote biodiversity.

Designing and building a hotel is great fun. You could hold a competition to find the best design. Can you recycle unwanted materials to make your hotel? Can students work as a team to build it? You can get some inspirational ideas from the 'Resource pack'.

Your step-by-step guide to getting started and all the resources you need are below.

Good luck!

This activity will contribute significantly towards the curriculum aspect of the Eco-Schools Bronze Award.

By understanding and promoting the sustainable impact of the project to the school and wider community, the school will also be able to use the activity towards an Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.

Remember you will need to complete an Eco-Schools simple environmental review and action plan to meet Bronze Award criteria.
